Subject: Thank You!
Hello Shane and Caron,
The only regret we have about enrolling our princess Erin at your fantastic swim school is that we should have done it EARLIER.
Erin joined your swim school and started her first lesson 6th September 2010 and she’s really doing well, she’s only 4 years old and has never had any swimming lessons, there’s absolutely NOTHING that will keep her from attending her swimming lessons, even when she’s sick she insists on going because “Teacher Shane says we must practise” she says.
She hasn’t missed a lesson, and even during the September holidays the school was closed (only for a week) she didn’t believe us, we had to take her to the school so that she could see the school was actually closed. Over and above that her enthusiasm causes us to sit at the swim school from 5pm (her lessons only start at 5:30pm) she doesn’t want to be late or miss out on any lessons.
Shane and Caron, all we can say is Thank you so much for accepting our princess into your swim school, it is a safe, friendly, welcoming environment, and we firmly believe that’s the reason for Erin’s excellent progress. She loves the dogs and sits with them before her class.
A coffee shop would make our visit complete! J
Thank you for your dedication and commitment, in teaching our children to be water safe.
This is an investment worth making!

Dear Caron,
Re: Cameron falling into the swimming pool.
I watched the news last night in tears as they interviewed a mother who had lost her two children who drowned in a swimming pool. I realized how much gratitude I actually owe you and Shane.
On the weekend, we went to a house on the Vaal River where the swimming pool had no net or fence. There were four adult and two teenage girls “watching” Cameron around the swimming pool. Everyone knew he “couldn’t” swim. It was then decided that we would go fro a cruise on the river in the boat, so everyone got up to fetch hats, towels, drinks etc. for the outing. I was busy putting sunscreen o Colby and, to be honest, didn’t even think about the danger that Cameron was in. When Colby walked out of the house, he screamed to me that Cameron had fallen in the pool. I ran out and Cameron was emerging from the pool in a shocked state.
He had fallen in and, through the lessons he has taken with you and Shane over the past 5 weeks, was equipped enough to swim to the side of the pool. We realized that, had it been two weeks earlier, we probably wouldn’t have been so lucky.
Sean and I would like to thank you for teaching Cameron the most essential life skill, learning to swim. You saved his life. Unfortunately, these accidents happen all the time and they happen so quickly. I can’t blame parents for negligence and not watching their children, but I can blame them for not sending them to swimming lessons and equipping them with this most essential skill when living in South Africa . Legislation to fence or net a pool may help, but teaching children to swim at an early age is more the legislation that I feel government should be looking at.
Thanks once again.
Kind regards
Bronwyn Jones.
